New Intercity Fleet
The NSW Government has announced it will invest $2.8 billion to procure new trains. This next-generation fleet will operate in the Intercity and outer suburban areas, linking Newcastle and the Hunter, South Coast, the Blue Mountains and the Sydney CBD. The new trains will come into service progressively, with the first trains delivered by 2019 and the rest of the fleet being delivered through to 2024.
Transport Engineering was the successful tenderer to become the Technical and Operational Advisor to TfNSW for the procurement of the New Intercity Fleet. We provide an onsite team of electrical, mechanical, ICT/software, maintenance, systems, and accessibility engineers to advise TfNSW on the technical risks and opportunities throughout the tendering process. We generated the technical performance specifications for the New Intercity Train, Simulators, and Maintenance Services. We also advise on minimum operational standards, acceptance criteria, review procedures, management plans and the performance regime.
