Parramatta Light Rail

Transport Engineering has been engaged to help develop the performance-based requirements specifications for the Parramatta Light Rail using its R&D tool Respecify.
Respecify helps engineers write correct requirements by enforcing conformance to a special grammar that has been tailor-made for requirements. By restricting the grammar available, we remove inherent ambiguities within English syntax, are able to extract and analyse the relationships generated by a set of requirements, and keep a glossary of all the terms used within a specification.
Though Respecify is still in development to make it more practical, we find that requirements written through the tool are generally more consistent, less ambiguous, and thus higher quality.
